Aftermath of a WW2 Continuation

What if shortly after WW2 a scuffle takes place between Soviet and Western troops which quickly turns into a major international incident and sparks a war between the Allies. The Soviets initially push the Allies behind the Rhine and into Italy but a mix of Allied air superiority and tactical use of nuclear bombs allows the Allies to push the Soviets to the Vistula. With the Allies threatening to bomb Moscow and the Strain of 5 years of war beginning to show the Soviets make peace in late 1946 and pull their troops out of Eastern Europe in exchange for their continued control of Eastern Poland, the Baltics and Karelia. This causes the Finns to distance themselves from the Western allies as they had already retaken their lost territory after joining the allied push.

The Western allies are seen to have won the war but it has been far from a clear victory. Two Atomic bombs have been dropped on Eastern Germany, Britian is very close to financial collapse as is France and although the Soviets have moved out of Eastern Europe Yugoslavia, Bulagaria, Albania and Czechoslovakia refuse to allow any Western interference in their countries and the rest of the Eastern block faces revolution ranging from peaceful demonstrations in Hungary to almost outright counter revolution in Romania.

So how would the situation pan out from here? Both sides have wounds to lick and neither the Soviets or the Americans are particulary popular with the populations of Europe.

This situation is similar to the one I recently thought of (and apparently a lot of other people thought of, as I learned). It's a very interesting prospect. Just curious -- where did the two bombs hit?

Let's say one close to Hamburg and another slightly east of Berlin
