I'm not sure whether or not this would be a future timeline or a TL after 1900 but bear with me. also bear in mind that this timeline is unrealistic or kinda is. IDK I'm still thinking about how the lore would go out. and yes this ATL is base on fallout franchisees though some other post-apocalyptic media are also based around that too.

PRE-WAR PERIOD:
Things have changed since the allied victory in the second world war...
Two big nations have emerged from it. The United States and the Soviet Union. Then a third state rose known as China. These states hated each other for some reason. I've heard it was because of their ideologies but that just me. Those two governments have developed weapons of mass destruction, the same ones that spark this whole damn apocalypse. Eventually, the Chinese and Soviets would have some sort of falling out. However, they would get over it during the mid-50s. Those two countries would unite with each other and form a "Sino-Soviet Union" or if you want to be specific, The Union of Soviet and Chinese Socialist Republics". The Union itself was questioned over autonomy and both of their culture. Eventually, a decision was made by both to create "Socialist Unions" Which were above the rules of socialist republics but below the communist party. This autonomy would be granted by both as there will be 2 leaders of the Russian Socialist Union and the Chinese socialist Unions. This New unification frightens those Americans and their allies. For one thing, they revamp their alliance to included their pacific counterparts. The US, Canada, and later Mexico decide to make their union and form the United Commonwealth of America in 1967. Australia, New Zealand and some islands called papa new guinea decide to also make some petty union in 1972.
This whole fiasco would go on. As they would send their soldiers to fight in off place countries such as Afgania and Veitland or something like that. Both of which the Sino-Soviet Union won. Eventually, this whole tension called the Cold war or something continued into the 21st century. Then some madmen senator name John merkins came along a crap on the UCA. Being alive around this time I have a recording of his exact saying. "October 28, 2004. It has been over weeks since the commies attempted to destroy the statue of liberty, The statue of DEMOCRACY! I told them all that we need to regulate the internet. Those commies were talking to each other. I *Shsghjjshyhh* do my part to stop the communist from attempting another attack. After this fai *gahggagkj* RECORDING ENDS
Well crap, that recording was 400 years old. So anyways a third red scare occurs after a so-called communist attempt to destroy the statue of liberty. Though many people made conspiracy theories were made that the government or Merkins made this up to prevent the rise of communism. With the rise of the internet, regulations were made by the government to companies. Anyone who was seen as "Communist" accounts was deleted and even possibly arrested. (As a result internet culture is very different compared to our world due to the third red scare). (I will also go a bit more into this later)
However many people protest this due to it breaking the First Amendment, which btw Most of the US, Canadian and Mexican constitution are used. Eventually, internet regulations would lighten up by 2021. John himself would continue staying in politics until his assassination in 2022. Again more conspiracy happens. Soon proxy war happens in syri and yes men or whatever their names were I forgot I also forgot who won but it lasted through the 2020s
