After timur

Alright. I read a bunch of Byzantine alternate history threads, and you know, they are quite interesting. I just want to create on myself. But I decided that this restored byzantine empire in out TL isn't a direct descendant of the Byzantine empire itself, but rather a Greek kingdom that came into being after Timur destroyed most of the ottomans and the Local Balkan countries finished them off (which is our POD btw), that eventually reconquered much of Anatolia and Greece and eventually was recognized as a byzantine successor.

In this thread I have these rules:

The official timeline will be made by me, but others can reply and make suggestions.

Because the POD itself is pretty miracle-reliant itself, I want those to be mostly prohibited.

No wanking. No BYZANTIUMWILLCONQUEREVERYTHING or HAPSBURGSWILLCONQUEREVERTYTHING.




I will be making the official chapters myself. But suggestions and criticism is open.

Prologue : One battle, One nation dead

A gust of death blows over the Ottoman army in the outskirts of Ankara. With the defection of the Anatolian Cavalry and the Kara Tatars, the Ottoman army was in full collapse. With every other flank in collapse other than the front right flank led by the Sultan's third son Mehmed, all hope was lost for the Ottoman Turks as the battle turned into a slaughter.

Mehmed watched as the armies set in. With every second they got closer. Even with some kind of miracle from god himself, he would not be able to win a fight. He had two options. Either to die with his father, or run. He thought of running, but hearing the news that several Timurid agents bribed some Italian sailors and some Feudal lords, he decided to die.

And with the faint voice of Mehmed rallying the Turkish war cry, the last flank of the Ottoman army rode into the Timurid Army, disappearing into history. This also happened to end the Ottomans' brief history of glory.

The Timurid agents were later executed by their masters for working to defect the Italians with out their permission. In the end, the rest of the Sultan's sons fought each other until even their own realm would disappear off of Anatolia. The Remaining Ottoman forces in the Balkans were mauled by Bulgarian Rebels and the Restored Serbian Kingdom.

With that, the entirety of Greece and Anatolia returned to small countries, Muslim and Christian, fighting each other, while Balkan kingdoms occasionally intervening, and Italians milking profit off of the fighting.

But the people still had hope. That someone will unite them together. That someone will stop all this nonsense. That someone will restore the glory of the Byzantine Emperors. Turns out the first person to fulfill that glory will come from the Balkans. But not for long........
