There's only three monarchies in Africa- Morocco, and Swaziland and Lesotho which are South African-protectorate micro states. That's wild. How could there have been monarchies after decolonization, either with the European powers establishing local constitutional monarchies and handing off rule to a native royal descended from precolonial regimes, or monarchies getting declared after postcolonial republics were overthrown? Sultanate of Zanzibar at the very least. And these guys in Uganda with the monkey flag.

Also, what about the pariahs of history? As in, neocolonial or colonial vestige states- rump Boer South Africa, Rhodesia, Portuguese Africa, Katanga, South Kasai, and Oranais or some other Pied Noir enclave.

Biafra deserves its own line, because while it was supported by some colonial vestiges, it was very much its own movement and represented a very significant separatist movement.

Finally, how about more African countries that managed to escape colonialism, with a POD as close to 1900 as possible? In this case it would clearly be Madagascar, made into a French protectorate in 1864. So let's say they, like Liberia and almost-Ethiopia, had an unbroken continuous independence.
