[Adaptation WI] - Live Action Properties Turned Animation, Vice Versa

See above. I've been mulling this since I've started reading American Magic, but are there any properties you'd have preferred to see appear as live action instead of animation or animation instead of live action? And if you do, what do you think the ramifications might have been?

One that sticks out in my head is the likes of Harry Potter, which kicked off a lot of young British careers and introduced many veteran actors to a worldwide audience. The joke was of course that it practically employed everyone in Britain, which I'm not sure would have taken place in an animated version. There would have perhaps seen a stronger influence of Rowling on the designs, we wouldn't be missing a lot of minor details like Harry's eyes or Ginny's (perceived) attractiveness to rile up fans.

Producing the increasingly darker series via animation might have lead to a drop off of adult viewers, or resulted in mixed reviews from parents. Perhaps the magical duels would be much more creative and engaging, rather than mere light shows. Something like Disney's Sword in the Stone comes to mind.

Thoughts, anyone?

I've been thinking recently on a scenario in which the Burton/Schumacher Batman films are animated. Perhaps the live-action Batman concept remains in development hell as it had a decade already, and thus when Paul Dini and Bruce Timm pitch their concept for an animated series on Fox, there will be no Burton films to use as a guideline. The plots of the movies appear either incorporated as broadcast episodes, or released as direct to video films like Batman:SubZero in OTL.

I did an DBWI where RWBY was live action. Many thought that it would be better as cartoon.. However, this is due to budget concern.
