Initially, the French succeeded in both states in defeating ... their opponents and placing their supporters on thrones in 1749.
So, the British Government supported the legal rulers while the French Government supported some battles to destroy those legal rulers:
-
Nasir Jung, the son of Nizam-ul-Mulk(Hyderabad city), in a battle at Dupleix-Fathabad in 1750
- Anwaruddin Muhammed Khan(Arcot city) after a
battle in 1749
1756, Siege of Calcutta
Cause: The British & French Goverments refused to obey the accepted rules of fortification established by the Nawab of Bengal since ~1695

Ibrahim Khan allowed them to protect their own factories, but did not allow any fortification explicitly.
