From Alternapedia:
Abrogast I was the former magister of the Western Roman Emperor who became the unofficial "Shadow King" of Rome following his defeat of Theodosis during the Battle of the Frigidus.
Abrogastes is known largely as "The Last Pagan" for his efforts to re-introduce paganism into Roman society through his puppet emperor, Eugenius, during his time in power, which lasted until he in turn was overthrown by Honorius in 408 with the aid of his general, Stilicho, who claimed the throne in the name of his late father and who branded Abrogast as a heretic; Abrogast subsequently committed suicide while Eugenius fled to Britannia where he sought protection from Constantine III; this lasted until Constantine's defeat in 411 when Eugenius was killed.

Thoughts and comments? This isn't an attempt to save what's left of the Empire; only to provide some commentary on a different turn of events for the unfortunate Abrogast.
