Thanks for replying !
well we have Hussain's son Ali who is reclusive , Hasan's sons were apolitical too
that leaves hashimites under Muhammad al hannafiyah and maybe abdullah b Jafar( who had grown fat on ummayyad stipends so hes unlikely to revolt)
Abdullah b zubayars's brother Urwa is a hadith geek , other one Musab is a warrior but he is cruel and mercurial and married to the equally volatile daughter of Husayn ,Sukayna so he is unlikely to be a clear thinker or a good politician.
.His other famous brother ( and his arch enemy) Amr has a ummayad mother and so he likely to back the Syrians.
There are some beneficiaries of this power vacumn
1-Abdullah b Hanzala the leader of ANsar, but their city is small , poor and their support is too local
2-Local Iraqi actors like Ahnaf b qays , Al-Mukhtar, Shibath b Riba'a , Ubaidullah ibn ziyad, Ibn Asa'ath , son of Al-Ashtar, Amr b Hajjaj etc who are seasoned tribal leaders. They can stage a rebellion against syria ( even w/o hussain in the picture) , take over azerbaijan and parts of persia but their internal squabbles are their biggest threat
3-Son of other major Muhajireen of Shura but problem is most of them like other sons of ALi, Umar, Sa'd b abiwaaqas, Talha seem politically inept and poor leaders or downright uninterested in politics
4-We can have major revolts of Mawali in persia ( like in time of Ali )
5-Ummayyad rival of yazid, the ultimate survivor Marwan b hakam ( perhaps the greatest threat)
any ideas , thoughts ?
Hate to say this but I see smooth sailing for Yazid , and he likely rules for 20 yrs like his father
