A Worse WWII...

I assume we'll be seeing elements of the Victory Plan coming into play?

You may also want to have a look at US plans to defend the Western Hemisphere. Operation Pot-of-Gold - a plan to rush 100k troops to northeastern Brazil - may be of some interest.

Incidentally, where does Latin America stand?

We're getting there - just wait a bit more. I will say that Latin America is ... messy.

FWIW, the USA did not 'conquer' Canada anything like that - The Republic of Canada is fully independent (though allied) with the USA.

Remember this is an alternate history story -aka "Screw the rules I have money".

Their influence would still be pretty damn strong in trying to get a ceasefire or whatever. Or some neo-royalist coup or w/e

tl;dr take it easy!

*sigh*
Its AH, not ASB. Although you dont seem to know the difference....

France doesn't get to retreat to Algeria - Italy gets Tunisia.

?What happens to Dutch - Belgium -Norway Royal Families?

‘General Marshall, the current strategic priority must be opening a line of communication to the Soviet Union. This means a reliable line where we can supply the USSR with aid to fight our common enemies. What can we do?’
This is only 1940, ?Did Hitler attack Russia this Early ITTL?

If Canada is on US Side, whe have the trans Arctic Route across the Pole.
?Alaska - Kamchatka?

3. Instead of having OTLs #1 navy and #2 navy (RN) allied against the #3 Navy (IJN), ally #2 and #3 against #1.
?If Canada? - then whe #1 & #4 v #2 & #3.

"If only..." was a mind game FDR indulged in frequently of late. He paced the Oval Office
No Polio:D

North Africa is not friendly to the Allies - not in 1940-41 at least.
Hitler is not attacking Russia in 1940, but it is an obvious next step.
Arctic route? Using what to move stuff 10,000 miles across Siberia and using which port in Kamchatka?
Canada's Navy - while large in OTL (and ttl) lacked heavy combat units.
And yes, FDR avoided polio...I always wanted a healthier FDR in a WWII tl.

Hmm . . . While I can still see Japan getting shafted . . . The Axis could win in Europe, right? (Not totally sure how throwing the British Navy into the mix could throw US operations against Japan out of wack.)

No unsinkable aircraft carrier. No nearby friendly ports to mass for a D-Day analogue or anything.

An interesting setup. It'll be fun to see where it all goes.

I imagine the French government in exile is in Cayenne for now, but hopes to get to Dakar soon. I wouldn't be shocked if there were (or at least had been) tough fighting in equatorial Africa - the French (and maybe the Force Publique of the Belgian Congo?) could take advantage of terrain difficulties to make any British advance into Equatorial Africa and the Congo a massive slog.

The Caribbean should be an Allied lake. There's probably too much possible land-based air power for the Axis to bring in surface units.

Is Iceland occupied by the US? What about Greenland?

French North Africa's out; I imagine that French West Africa isn't doing well, either. How are things in the Mideast and East Africa? Is Egypt still neutral? Is Chad occupied? Are Syria and Lebanon friendly neutrals, occupied allies, or unfriendly?

Did MN Jean Bart (launched March 6, 1940 in OTL) make it across the Atlantic?

French India is inconsequential and can be ignored. On the other hand, Madagascar might be a semi-viable temporary base of operations, perhaps for straggling survivors of FA(D)(A)COM [French-American-Dutch(?)-Australian(??) Command]. Or it might have already fallen. So, yeah.

wow this will be interesting I mean I just can't imagine their being any way now without Britain as an ally that the Americans will be able to invade Europe and without British intelligence and even radar was a British invention so I can imagine the naval war in the Atlantic being a lot harder for the Americans and you know their will be no real reason for an invasion of the Balkans by the Germans so they devote all their forces to crushing Russia with aid from Britain while the British and Italian armies can devote their full strength to crushing the French colonial empire

Canada is a US ally in my scenario, so no traditional 'Battle of the Atlantic'. Keep in mind that Britain needs imports, and if not from North America than from somewhere.

As I said, Latin America is ... messy.
