A World Without Rome: A Cartographic Timeline

Here by popular request, the condensed version of my Rome free map series.
Here we see the first map of the series, the Empire of Alexander at the death of that semi-mythological man who founded it Alexander the Great.

Next we have the Empire at its height, just after it split into the Eastern and Western halves due to bureaucratic overload of managing the entire empire, and the heirs to the thrown being brother who got along very well.

Massalan Empire in southern France thrives. The Western Empire suffers a serious crisis when an Emperor dies without any clear heir and the chief generals fight over the Empire. China thrives.

The "Massalan Empire"? I doubt that Phocaean Greek of Massalia had quite the manpower to expand into Gaul. Dominant possibly over the over Greek colonies in the area such as Nicaea (Nice), Antipolis (Antibes) and Emporion (Ampuries). But the Gauls?! There was a good reason why Massalia voluntarily became a Roman protectorate in OTL. In such a situation, Marseilles' choices would include aligning itself with Carthage, Syracuse, or submitting to the Arverni, whom were very powerful in Gaul between the 3rd-2nd centuries BCE.

There were plenty of Greeks who didn't look up to Alexander that much, seeing him as a Macedonian Barbarian and moved to Massalia. Also, they expanded fairly peacefully though alliances, largely due to the Carthaginians eying the area and the Massalians being seen as the more likable force.

The Persic Empire, the Scythians and the Huns attack the Western Empire in its moment of weakness. The Mayan cities states coalesce into their confederation, having recovered from a near total collapse.

They did a fair bit OTL. That and the prestige of a bigger empire.

They did as the result of the Punic Wars. And Carthage had no interests in empire like that before her interactions with Rome and the compromise of her republic. Carthage was far more interested in securing favorable terms of trade with independent partners, rather than subjugating them.

Well, they have gone through about 150 years of butterflies by the second map, and the "threat" of Macedonia had some effect on them.
