A world without an American War for Independence

Alright, this is all for a timeline I'm thinking of starting about the world without an America...or at least without an American Revolt.

That said: What's the earliest point of divergence to avoid the American War for Independence? I'm thinking maybe 1756...avoid the Seven Years' War and there's no need for the taxes that drove the Colonists to revolt. However, that means having to get rid of it...so I'd have to adjust the War of Austrian Succession somewhat too I'd imagine, with a POD somewhere in teh course of that war. That said, just what woudl it be?

And besides a somewhat obvious butterflying of the French Revolution (or at least its debilitating effect on France...there'd still likely be a peasent's revolt over the rye rot and all), what other major changes do you see in the 18th Century, especially in the 10-15 years immediately following hte POD/end of the Seven Years' War/its analogue?

Butterflying away the 7yr's War in order to get rid of the ARW is important for two reasons: It gets rid of the taxes that triggered the war, and for the mostpart eliminates the strong semi-nationalist feeling that was going around after the colonials defeated the French.

An interesting POD, 03771, but by allowing the rebellion to already happening, aren't yo usetting yourself up for a second, or even third, rising? Basically turning American colonies into what Scotland was for the English back in the 12th thru 15th Centuries..an expensive and bloody deal that you really can't win, even if you do win a number of the individual conflicts.

Here's a thought, maybe with such a large area, each "state" (I doubt they'd call them that) could have possibly had it's own Canada-style parliament. As in, they pay lip service to the Queen, and identify as British, but are basically self-governing.

Alright, as my POD I've decided that the Treaty of Aix-la-Chapelle (ending the War of the Austrian Succession) would do.

As such, here are its new terms, based somewhat on its old ones, and presuming a largely complete and total Anglo-Prussian victory.

Silesia and north-eastern Bavaria are ceded to Prussia.
Fort Louisbourg is retained by the British.
Maria Theresa abdicates the Austrian throne in favor of the Duke of Lorraine, her husband and Holy Roman Emperor.
Russia gains all of Poland.
Britain gains a few islands in the Caribbean.
France leaves India, returning her holdings to the local rulers.

The problem I have now is going from here...
