Ok, the POD is that at some point around 80 million years ago, the East coast of North America breaks off. Then, around 75 million years ago, a western chunk of South America and California are torn off the Americas. Then, about 60 million years ago, a large amount of Brazil broke off. What would the effects be? I'm thinking climates would be very different, and many plants and animals would have evolved differently due to the nearby other continents, or the fact an ocean just appeared where they are.
