A work in progress

Excellent TL ideas Xen. I've explored some of them in my Course of Human Events TL, which has the Proclamation of 1763 as its POD. For example, there is no ARW, though an independent Kingdom of Albion does arise. Charlotte's twin brother is King William IV. Charlotte died, but her son lives and now is Crown Prince of Greece where Leopold is K. Spain's Ferdinand VII died childless and was succeeded by his brother Carlos (their brother Francisco became Emperor of Mexico). Miguel is K of Portugal, Pedro lived out his life as Emperor of Brazil as will his son Pedro II. Infanta Francisca will eventually become Queen Consort of Albion, as she will soon marry Crown Prince Augustus. Russian succession has also been altered, as Alexander I's son now rules as Paul II. I am now writing about slavery, the Potato Famine and the Political uphevals during the mid-1840's in Europe. I also had the young Dauphin Louis and his sister escaping Paris, though they reportedly drowned at sea (I decided not to pursue the idea of his/their survival). Feel free to use anything from CoHE that might be useful to your work. I also invite you to make comments and suggestions on the TL.

Okay so perhaps have Maria born as a boy instead after the death of HIS father.

I guess I'll have to scrap the thought of Brazil remaining united with Portugal, from what Ive been reading there wasn't much support for a united monarchy anyways. So perhaps in this ATL Miguel is crowned the Emperor of Brazil, and the young Pedro (OTL Maria) is the heir to the throne of Portugal.

It will be interesting how young Pedro develops, is he a liberal? a moderate? a conservative? hmmm

IMHO, Miguel in Brazil means the monarchy may fall much earlier or he is forced to bow to a constitution (in a Prussian fashion) or he is replaced by someone more liberal.
If the ATL Pedro manages (maybe with massive British help) to overcome the absolutists (who will get help from Miguel with an eye on getting Portugal), there is a chance that the parliament may have more strength than in OTL (but that depends also on the leanings of the country(ies) that help Pedro to stay in power).
