To provide an example look at the cycle of Henry's marriages.
Divorced Catherine of Aragon, had Anne Boleyn divorced from her head, divorced with Jane Seymour by death, and it repeats with Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard, and Catherine Parr, who survived the king.
In fairness, Jane wasn't intentional. On the other hand, marriage to Catherine Howard was at best the product of the king thinking with his loins. I can honestly not think of any other reason for it.
And it is really freaky that his wives except for one are Catherine or Anne. Coincidence? Or bizarre fetish?
Yeah. It shows, in the best way.It did help that his first and fourth wives were of royal stock...
Henry...let me put it this way. His father was the upstart, but Henry's the one who comes off as one.
In the sense of a nonroyal's impression of what royalty is supposed to be.
There was none of the grandeur of his daughter in him.
Some people can appear majestic in rags. Henry lacked that quality. Not so much charisma or appearance as just not being that sort of person.
