"A Visit from St. Nicholas" unpublished

Clement C. Moore wrote "A Visit from St. Nicholas" ("'Twas the Night before Christmas).
He was not writing for publication.
He was writing to delight his children. He refused to have the poem published.
Suppose "A Visit from St. Nicholas" is never published. What happens then?

Donder or Donner?

The name of the eight reindeer were mentioned in "A Visit from St. Nicholas". The last two reindeer were "Donder" and "Blitzen".
The name "Donner" replaced "Donder" in the publication of the 1939 story book Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, written by Robert L. May.
