Phillip the Good and Charles the Bold both sought crown to confirm their dominance of the Low Countries. For various reasons, neither succeeded. However, what would this title have been? I was thinking either King or Archduke of the Low Countries, however it really depends who would give the crown since the titles "Holy Roman Emperor" and "King of Germany" were passed between the Luxembourg, Habsburg and Wittelsbach often during this period.
The only reason I can think of for not making the title "King of the Low Countries" is a reluctance to create another Kingdom in Germany after the Kingdom of Bohemia.
I'd like to get as many opinions as I can, but this question relates to my planning for my timeline, and since I don't want to give any spoilers their are a lot factors I am leaving out here.
Any ideas or help would be very much appreciated,
Thanks,
Scipio
