A surviving Austria-Hungary?

Assuming it endured WW1, presumably through German victory in that war, what would the empires following experience's be? Did it have any chance of survival, even in a diluted form?

Would it be capable of remaining a significant global player?

And what would it use as the foundation of it's identity, the raison d'etre for its existence?

Austria-Hungary disappeared because of the combination of defeat in the battlefield, which destroyed the central unifying column - the Armed Forces - and the machinations of the Allied powers with particular minority parties to dismember the nation.

There is no reason that it could not have survived. As a supra-national entity it was considered standing ruin by other nation states, but that is because it stood out from the norm.
