A son for Mary, Queen of Hungary?

In May 1395, Mary, Queen of Hungary suffered a riding accident during a hunting trip, going into premature labor, with both her and her son dying soon after. This left her husband, Sigismund of Luxembourg, in a difficult position, as he had become king of Hungary by right of his wife.

However, assuming Mary avoids her riding accident and is able to give birth to her son safely, how does Sigismund having a male heir affect the house of Luxembourg going forward?

The kid would get all the possesions of his mother if she died, with his Father becoming the direct regent of Hungary, probably causing some internal affairs between this new German ruler and the hungarian nobility.
If she doesn't, and he is properly raised without having to deal with plots and politics with such a young age (with also sigismund smashing the turks and obtaining all the titles that he had IOTL) he could posibly become Emperor of the HRE and King of Hungary, Bohemia, Croatia and (nominally) Germany.
Also is possible that the Habsburgs never are crowned as Emperors again, as the Luxembourg dynasty never extinguishes (but this mostly depends on how the son of Sigismund would reign and rule over all this amalgate of kingdoms and cultures).

The boy would inherit Hungary. Perhaps this Prince could marry his cousin, Elizabeth Bonifacia, if she survives. Mary might also bear more children.

Could this TL see a greater Polish contribution to the Crusade of Nicopolis? With Mary and her heir still alive, OTL's dynastic struggle between Sigismund and Jadwiga(Hedvig) wouldn't happen and the two realms would be on more friendly terms. Could that also influence later events, such as the Battle of Grünwald or the Hussite Wars?

I think it's almost a given. Sigismund will blackmail Jogaila into supporting him if he has a son with Mary, possible claimant to Poland.

Why his cousin when there are foreign candidates for him?

His cousin (if she survived) would bring the main rival of Hungary into his fold, don't you think it'd be worth it from Luxembourg POV?

Sigismund was already crowned King, at most boy will be his father's co-King, but most likely he would remain his father's heir.

Maybe a daughter of Henry IV, or Albert IV of Austria?
Blanche would be the likelier candidate, she was proposed as a potential second wife for Sigmund as well, but he declined with thanks. Unless Henry has a daughter by Joan of Navarre. Then Blanche will end up in Aragon (as was proposed after Sigmund turned her down) and Sigmund's son (likely Karoly or Laszlo (Siggie's patron saint) will marry Henry-Joan's daughter

With an eight year age gap, do you think Blanche might be a bit old for Sigismund's son?

@Kellan Sullivan: an ATL daughter of Ladislaus/Charles (?) might be a good candidate for a wife for Henry VI.
