A second wife for James II and VII

So, I'm looking at wives for James II of England, post 1667-with Anne Hyde having died giving birth to a stillborn son- and two candidates I think would be very interesting are Luise Marie of the Palatinate, and her sister Anne Henriette being considered prime candidates, would Luise be considered a viable bride for James, admittedly she was Roman Catholic, and this was before he'd come out as such, but she does bring ties to the Palatinate through her father, and she is Prince Rupert's niece, so I can see him promoting the marriage.

If not them, who are other alternatives?

I’m going for Anne Henriette here, and as this seems to have been before james properly converted to Catholicism he might just remain Protestant

Why exactly would he stay Protestant, his Catholic wife is gone but a) he's replacing her with another Catholic; and b) there's no shortage of other Catholics who could influence him (mom's recently died as well, but her Catholic ghost might cast a long shadow, Charles II' on the fence about it, Minette is, Charles' wife PLUS Jimmy's new wife are; and there are several members of Charles-James' circle who are Papist.)

This is true. I suppose we’d srill be looking st a James converting scenario then, if there’s enough peer pressure on him. Of course any kids he has with her are definitely going to be Anglican Id born during the reign of Charles
