I've read other threads here that discussed the consequences of Margaret, Maid of Norway surviving her travel to Scotland. However, I was thinking in other possibility: WI her mother, Margaret of Scotland, the wife of Eric II of Norway, had not died after giving birth to her daughter, but living decades more? Assuming that in Scotland everything goes more or less as IOTL (with Alexander III dieing childless in 1286) she becomes Queen. So, what could be the consequences of a union between Scotland and Norway? And assuming that Eric and Margaret have a male heir, could this union be kept?
