A Scandinavian Empire?

Is there any way for there to be a Scandinavian Empire? When I say Scandinavian, I mean including Sweden and Norway at the least. Bonus points if it includes Denmark, Finland, Iceland and/or Greenland as well. More bonus points if it is a colonial empire of sorts as well.

Ivangorod Prosperous does cover a significant portion on a Swedish colonial empire in North America, but as a recreated colony of Vinland.

How about colonies for the Scandinavians?

IOTL both Denmark and Sweden did have the beginnings of Colonial Empires, so maybe look at those places;

Sweden had Saint-Barthélemy, New Sweden, Tobago, the Swedish Gold Coast* and attempted to colonize Tobago.

Denmark had the (U.S.) Virgin Islands, Nicobar Islands, Danish Gold Coast* and some forts in India.

*The Gold Coast is a region of West African coast that several European countries had forts and trading posts that were eventually sold/ceded to Britain and France.

Well, there is OTL Sweden-Norway after 1815, and before that there was the Denmark-Norway and the Swedish Empire, and way back in the 1400s there was the Kalmar Union.

I'm thinking that Scandinavian/Nordic unification failed so many times in OTL that the best way to achieve this would be too actually have closer ties between the tribes from as early as the 6th or 7th century. It seems that it's a "project" bound to fail when the national identity starts too form a couple of hundred years later.

The later the PoD the more improbable a Scandinavian Empire is. First National identity is too strong and not at least to many great powers have interest in no unification.

My timeline:

has a 1042 PoD, but develops much beyond Scandinavia, and probably isn't a Scandinavian Empire at all.

A more suitable PoD might be the battle of Ditmarksen in 1500. Here King Hans of Denmark (and Norway and Sweden) lost an expensive hired army, his credibility as well as his self confidence, as the army was defeated by peasants under peculiar circumstances. A more likley outcome would have been the army brutally crushing the Ditmarskers, and that might very well have consolidated the Kalmar Union at a time when the other Europan powers still couldn't intervene seriously.

Copenhagen falling in 1659 might very well have Sweden at least try to annex Denmark-Norway, but I doubt if Sweden can keep it - too many big bullies out in Europe will have different interests - and the Danes and Norwegians might not be interested either.
