A Roosevelt dictatorship?

For FDR to try to become dictator even a temporary one events would need to be very different.
The supreme court strikes down most if not all of the legislation in the first 100 days.
Supreme court rules both federal income tax and the federal reserve unconstitutional.
With the rulings of the supreme court making impossible for FDR to take the measures he think are needed to save America for the depression or raise enough money for the budget , FDR declares a national emergency and moves to call a constitutional convention to write a new deal constitution and rid America of this horse and buggy constitution.
While this is happen the constitution is suspended and FDR become de-facto dictator until a new modern constitution is passed.
A new constitution for modern America.
The new constitution could take several years to agree and pass.
In the mean time FDR is de-facto dictator.

It would help it there was attack on the capital build with it being burnt down like the Reichstag fire.
or a bomb or bombs while congress is in session killing most of the house and senate and vp.

As for the Supreme Court, he proposed a fix to its obstructionism, Congress didn’t go through with it. The Supreme Court is an unelected gang of 9 that should defer to the executive and legislature in most situations.

So are you saying that one of the 3 tiers of the government is supposed to be a rubber stamp for whoever is the president at the time? You need to retake a civics class son.

The point of having the three equal but separate branches was to insure that no one person (or gang of people) can quickly change the rules to their advantage. This is part of our issue today; the judicial branch has become political and it's members tend to pick a political side vs. ruling via the constitution. Thank god even some of the bad leaders we've had recently have not resorted to doing this. Can you envision a 45 member supreme court as each succeeding president adds the appropriate number of justices to get what they want.

Indeed.
It would be easy for a Tyrant to take over.

"most" != "always".

The Court is unelected and unaccountable save by impeachment and conviction (life tenure). Its powers should therefore be used cautiously, and whenever possible the Court should defer to the branches of government which directly represent the will of the people. Especially on questions of policy, not procedure.

He ran four times because he was so popular he could win four times. Outside of America a prime minister staying in power for 16 years is completely normal. As for the Supreme Court, he proposed a fix to its obstructionism, Congress didn’t go through with it. That last sentence is clearly current politics.

Cease and desist.
