A Red Star Over Warsaw: An Alternate Polish-Soviet War

(Hmm. I've seen several unfinished scenarios on this site with PoDs dealing with the Polish-Bolshevik war. I've yet to see one where Poland is not overrun, let alone performs better than in OTL. I'll see if I can find the time to do something about the lack of such timelines during the next few weeks.)

A more successful Poland in the Polish-Soviet war would be an interesting TL as well...

To be honest, a TL in which Poland does better would be one I'd read. But I'm playing to my strengths, and, well, my left hand is my strongest. :p As to Stalin; he'll leave this war quite disgraced, as he ends up essentially being too slow to get into any of the really important battles, which nearly cost Tukhachevsky the Battle of Warsaw. He is of course smart enough to overcome this, but a couple other things will happen as well which will certainly neutralize him... ;)

Update in two days.

Well, then, that's interesting. A number of Trotsky's ideas are too unpopular among the other Bolsheviks to get into power, Bukharin is pretty politically naïve... that leaves the Kamenev-Zinoviev duo as the most likely winners of the power-struggle then.

A Polish SSR (and presumably the Baltic States too, as they would follow the Poles in quite short order) is certainly going to have a lot of butterflies. The Germans will be pleased at getting back those eastern territories (and the WAllies won't say boo with a much larger red menace),

Why would the Germans be pleased?
The Weimar Republic is weak and disunited. The moderate political parties lost heavily in the June 1920 federal elections while right-wing and left-wing parties won.
The army is weak, communist voters / sympathizers at around 12-15%.
And the French in 1920 will do their very best to block any weapon deliveries to Germany.
Seem to me that Lenin will order the Red Army forward into Germany as soon as possible once Poland is defeated.

Getting industrialized Germany would be quite a boon for the World Revolution? :)
