A realistic Fashoda War and its political consequences

What would a realistic war erupting from the Fashoda Incident look like?
How long would the fighting last?
Would the war be limited to the Sudan or would is spread to the rest of their respective empires?
Would any other European powers pick sides, militarily or politically?
Who would win?
How might this impact relations between France, Britain, and the other great powers?

I have a few thoughts myself.
I think the fighting would last at most a year.
I think the fighting would be limited to the Sudan. Up until OTL ww1 wars over territory were primarily fought in the disputed territory.
I don't think any other power would get involved militarily. I think the Germans would politically support the British. Austria-Hungary is probably the same as Germany. Italy could go either way. Russia supports France. With Spain at war with the US they would probably support the opposing side to who the Americans support. I see the Americans supporting the British.
I think the British would win.
I think the relations between France and Britain would be tense for some time. Britain would not support France in their dispute with Germany over Morocco. If a continental war broke out between Germany and France I think the British might be more inclined to stay neutral, so long as Germany promised not to invade Belgium (or the British telling the Belgians to let the Germans through) or promise minimal changes to the boundaries of Europe.

What about the rest of you?

The idea of a Fashoda war is totally unrealistic.

It would require everybody in the french government and the majority of the parliament to be stupid and ignorant since there was no strong executive power in the french third republic.

And even if there had been a very strong executive power, the recent disaster of the war against Prussia would have been a very good reminder that one should never enter a war which one is neither prepared to fight, nor able to win.

Agree, not realistic. French offisers sent there were also diplomats and understood the logic behind.

Moreover it was useless for anybody to fight for such a barren and useless land. Both sides used it as a bargaining coin and nothing more.
