A question on malay islands, peoples...

I wonders... Checking here, wikipedia, etc, I find a lot on the history of the malay islands, peoples... The indianised states, the arrival of Islam...

And I wonder - do we know things at ALL on the times BEFORE even the indian influences came? I was thinking actually of the religious and spiritual believes of the malays and related peoples (like in Philipines) in particular... What was the malay 'paganism' like? And heck, did it survive at all, or traces into the Hinduism of Bali, or the malay popular Islam?

(And so, in ATL history.... Could there be a 'pagan' state surviving somehow? What it would be like, where and how?)

Apologies for any possible offensiveness in this thread, had I said stupid things.

You can check my two timelines, A Terrace of Rice or Terraces and Pagodas.

The ones with 'independant' philipinian state(s)?

Yes, but my focus is on the Northern part, it does not get conquered by Muslim invaders so they also resisted the Spanish invaders later on, both of my timelines have that, the first one has a POD in late 15th century or early 16th century(Terraces and Pagodas) the other one in 13th-14th century(A Terrace of Rice)..

Ahhhh, yeah, i should check that indeed. :)

Does much is known of pre-muslims and pre-christians believes of the Philipines?

I have not put that subject on my TL Terraces and Pagodas but you know that they are pagan but I will try to do it on my A Terraces of Rice TL where in one of the rulers of Selurong are named after a regional deity, Domongan, I will expand that more in the next update.

I think it is known in Philippine literature and in the media but alot of mythology has been lost.

I think it is known and in the literature but only in the Philippines.

Cool, thank for the hints :)
