So...

I've never been into boats. Sorry, 'Ships'.

Planes, tanks, even the foot sloggers have always garnered more of my attention.

Now, that being said, the internet has provided oodles of interesting history and rousing tales of naval daring-do alongside incidents of more humorous affairs and encounters.

I'm of a mind to ask a more engineering side of things question. Also, given the nature of the beast I'll be reffering to, this might strike the more seriously minded folks as a complete flight of fancy to boot.

With the long winded preamble out of the way, my question pertains to the 'Habbakuk'.

History leaves us with the sunken, scale test model in the great lakes and the technical details of 'What might have been'. A mile long, monstrous floating airfield.

My thoughts turn to a different question. Instead of an aircraft carrier. What sort of turreted fighting platform might have been possible?

What shape might such a construct take?

Thanks for looking in and I look forwards to any and all feedback.

Cheers.
