A Perfect World

So yeah...I guess I'm just a little depressed and cynical at the moment, so I decided to make this post. Even though true perfection is physically impossible and philisophically debatable, what PODs after 4000 B.C.E. could allow a timeline to be as "Utopian/Perfect" as possible. I'm sure this has been done before in the ASB section, but at least one can hope that there are pockets of bliss in Universe.

Discuss...if you want.

Roman Empire survives, tolerates all religons, unites the world, becomes a republic once more and technology is a 1000 years ahead of us.

Wouldn't it just be better if the Republic never falls or would it's first failure teach the second Republic an important lesson needed for a Utopian World?

I have a better POD involving Christianity and Utopia:

POD: People actually do what Jesus says :p

I think that a world where tolerance and charity were the defining traits would actually be pretty close to perfect.

Maybe, but the Christians would still have to ignore Paul and various parts of the Old Testament to be somewhat Utopian.

POD: 5 BCE
Jesus is stillborn.

Wow. Seriously?

Like, really? Wow.

I like the Roman idea. I also like the idea of a universal Hellenic culture that expands after the Trojan War. One that would easily admit prophets like like Jesus and Mohammed to the Greek religion. Or as prophets of minor religious sects in the Empire.
