Governor Cuomo Dead December Storm Kills NY Chief Executive
The conditions were poor, to say the least, but Governor Cuomo insisted to arrive at the meeting in a public school located in downtown Albany. Against the advice of his private security, the Governor's SUV rolled down to the icy and slippery roads with the driver barely able to see past the windshield. As the SUV turned the corner it crashed head-on into an oncoming car which had drifted out of his lane. The drivers of each vehicle were killed instantly.
Governor Cuomo, who was not wearing a seat belt, smashed head first in to the seat in front of him. When the car rolled over, falling off the elevated road, the Governor was tossed numerous times and eventually smashed his head, once again, on the window he fell on. The only remaining survivor in the car carrying 5 is the Governor's Chief of Staff who remains in critical condition and may not make it much longer. Emergency vehicles responded almost 45-minutes later and the Governor was alive, he did not make it to the hospital however and died in transit. Lieutenant Governor Robert Duffy was sworn in upon word of the Governor's passing.
Cuomo was a front runner for the 2016 Democratic Nomination until he announced he wouldn't be running in March. Though an official reason was never released insiders close to the Governor hinted that a questionable past may have been a motive for the New York Governor. It's impossible to tell now if all of this would've happened had Cuomo run for President.
