Back on my Lancastrian horse (I know, I tend to switch between Lancaster and York instead of choosing one and sticking with it), but something interested me in reading about Henry V’s failed engagements as Prince of Wales. The duke of Brittany married his sister, Marie, to the duc d’Alençon for a smaller dowry than he would’ve required for marrying her to the prince of Wales/king of England. While the duke of Burgundy had an age appropriate daughter in the OTL duchesse de Gyenne/dauphine/duchesse de Bretagne, he only married his youngest off to the duke of Bedford.
So, here is my idea for a slightly more thriving house of Lancaster, although I’ve aimed for as few butterflies as possible (so everyone lives their OTL lifespans), and for children, I’ve simply made their OTL bastards born in wedlock:
Henry IV, King of England
Henry V, King of England m. Catherine de Valois
Henry VI m: Marguerite d’Anjou
Edward, prince of Wales m: Anne Neville/Margaret of Scots
Thomas, duke of Clarence m: 1407 Blanche de Bretagne
John, duke of Clarence (1409-1431) m: ?
John, duke of Bedford m: 1413 Catherine of Burgundy; 2m: ?
[1m.] Richard, duke of Bedford (1415-) m: 1433 Jacquetta of Luxemburg
[2m.] Mary(1420-1462) m: ?
[2m.] Stillborn Child (1422)
Humphrey, duke of Gloucester (1390-1447) m: 1422 [ann.1428] Jacqueline of Bavaria, Countess of Holland
Stillborn Child (1424)
Margaret (1425-1471) m: ?Pedro of Coimbra, Constable of Portugal?
Arthur, Count of Holland (1426-1447)
What does everyone think? Suggestions for spouses are welcomed. I thought of the Isabelle d'Armagnac that was offered for Henry VI for someone (maybe Clarence or Holland), but I don't know if that would be viable.
