Yes, and also Ireland is slightly larger. The desert is all British: I did nothing to Saudi Arabia.

The bits where borders haven't changed aren't all from the same date: Serbia & Montenegro still being federated together (presumably as 'Yugoslavia'), ditto Czechia & Slovakia, and East Timor still being Indonesian, are temporally incompatible with an independent South Sudan. ..
... and Iraq having an autonomous Kurdistan at the same time that it is occupying Kuwait (as far as I can see on the scale that this laptop allows) would be another temporal incompatibility in itself

Apparently the islands north of Canada's NW Territories & Nunavaut mostly have a different, separate status?

Arizona and New Mexico are still territories, although the rest of the map is basically "modern"... and Arizona has a coast around the mouth of the Yuma River

There's a new nation separated off in south-eastern Brazil
Andalusia has been split in two, east & west

although various claims & disputes are shown elsewhere, Israel apparently has absorbed the West Bank & the Gaza Strip completely

Australia's 'Capital Territory' seems to have achieved statehood.

- Newfoundland and Labrador is an independent country, owning most of the Canadian Archipelago.
- Yukon has a small slice of British Columbia.
- Yellowstone Territory, Arizona and New Mexico (including a portion of Oklahoma) are territories aswell.
- Weird US-Mexico border.
- Brazil has a new state in the Amazon and Acre is a territory, also what is that in the center of the country.
- Southern Brazil is independent.
- The province of Mendoza is autonomous. Argentina also owns all of Tierra del Fuego.
- Did Bantustans exist in 2000?

- South Sudan did not exist as of yet.
- Gabon owns a piece of the CAR which in turn took a slice off Chad.
