A little bit experimenting on "Red British Empire" concept

1) i don't mean a group of counterrevolutionaries (though those are certainly possible), i mean other groups of revolutionaries that are ideologically distinct.

2) a revolution in britain that produced a red british empire would necessarily require simultaneous or almost immediately following revolutions in the colonies. otherwise how are the workers' soviets (or syndicates, or grand councils of trade unions, or what have you) going to overthrow the old order in the colonies, unless you posit a radicalization of the enlisted classes of the royal navy?

3) any simultaneous revolution in india would, of course, naturally be quite different ideologically from its counterpart in britain, because of different economic and cultural realities, which is why i said 'counter' socialist movement, as they would eventually grow apart.

1) I see. But as I said, the difference between rural and urban proletars will likely not going to be so obvious at this early point. Eyes will be seized by the failures of the last capitalist regime.

2) I am certainly looking for how to make the Socialists of London be able to make branches not only in colonies, but also in imperial dominions. Yes, branches. So the socialist proletariats' parties in Canada, South Africa, and maybe also Australia should be in association with the socialist proletariats' party of UK. I'm pretty sure that at least something close to Imperial Federation is needed, 'coz that can enable that, and also resulting in a giant bureaucratic system susceptible of infiltration. This can also enable socialists to sip in military too, navy included.

3) Again, look at point #1.

I would agree that the differences will be surfacing up after the different socialist brands don't have anymore internal rivals other than themselves, but even that won't be to immediately. As for India, yes it's the best ground for this sort of divide, however ITTL there will be a greater challenge to socialism in India, namely the pro-Ottoman Indians, which would provide a native, more 'senior' anti-Imperialists, compared to the 'younger', (")European-invented("), so-called syndicallism. Especially among muslims, European syndicallism in general will have a hard time to sip into their minds, primarily because of the still-decently prestigeous Caliphate in Constantinople, and thus Islamic World, furtherly benefitted by the hardships faced by the previously the most prominent colonial power on the globe. Hence pretty much most Indian muslim manpower won't be available to the Reds. Traditionalist Hindus who won't like "the defenders of the Sudras" will also very likely be on the same side with those muslims, too. I'd guess that much of northern India will be lost by London, though maybe that most of Southern India and Bengal can be maintained. Anyway, the most chaotic of former Imperial domains in immediate post-revolution times would be India. I actually won't be surprised if British will be totally driven out to the sea because of all this mess. And if there will still be parts of India to be retained, I will be convinced to think that they will put aside their differences before a single, common threat.

Besides, ultimately despite of the urban background of this British socialism, doesn't mean that this Federation will inevitably become an urbanocracy. It's not it will be totally hopeless for the rurals to struggle for their interests conformistly. That, or possibly that they will be to much overpowered to do anything.
