"Gore gets Illinois, Michigan, and New Jersey as part of our CBS News Election Night headlines of the hour. The biggest poll closing hour of this election night; Gore has also won Florida, and we can confirm that he has won the battleground state of Michigan. Author's Notes

This is my new timeline, and I'm sure you all know where this is going. However, I decided to leave it here, since I'll be leaving soon. The conclusion should be up by 9:00 EST.

You never said what happened in Missouri that it went for Bush.

Also, you're using the post-2000 election map. Find one based off of the '90 Census.

I'm only counting battleground states with the "State, Candidates, Precincts" form, note the time skips.

I also cannot show toss up states on the 2000 election map.

EDIT: Oh damn, I showed it going for Bush only with the Ohio map. Let me edit that really quick.

I made a what if thread last night about a Gore Presidency, and what do you know, someone just might have made a TL about it. Regardless of who wins (I'm hoping for Gore), I'm reading.

"It is now apparent that the race in Ohio was much more competative than originally anticipated. Currently the Gore is trailing Bush by only about ten thousand votes. We are retracting Ohio for Bush, although it is certainly leaning his way."

Gov. George W. Bush/Dick Cheney - 210 - 47%

I'll warn you now this is a hard scenario to write for. Stretch out elections as much as you can.

Looks like you have a good start. Good luck, I'm sure you can handle the challenge better than I have.

So I'm guessing Nader didn't run, thus giving Gore the popular vote in Ohio? Why did W. Va. go to Gore instead of to Bush?
