A later end to the war in Europe and the Soviet invasion of Manchuria

If I remember correctly, the Soviets promised to jump into the Pacific theater within three months after the fight in Europe came to an end. However, if the war in Europe had lasted a few more weeks and instead of ending in early May the war had ended by the end of the month, what would have happened to Manchuria?

May 8 + 3 months = August 8. May 28 + 3 months = August 28 (long after the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki).

Do the Soviets simply launch their attack earlier than three months after the fall of Germany or can this little butterfly influence the date of the surrender of Japan or perhaps affect the future Korean War?

Is such a scenario even possible in the first place? I am aware that after Bagration it is extremely difficult to stop the Soviet momentum in the east, but how about before this operation?
