Let's suppose:

- The Mexican Revolution ends with a communist government taking power. This communist state later takes advantage of the Chaos caused by the great depression and conquers Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, and Nicaragua. Mexico also builds the long theorized Nicaragua Canal. (But avoids the British Colonies)
- Communism becomes prevalent in Iran and Turkey
- The Sino-Soviet Split never occurs
- France is split in half with communists taking control of the former Vichy French Region. The Capitalist north maintains control of New Caledonia, French Guinea, French West Indies, French Polynesia, and Djobouti. The communist south takes Algeria. Corsica is ceded to Italy by the north.
- The US expands to turn, Newoundland, Labrador, Greenland, Iceland, Hispanola, the Philippines, Northern Marianas, the Carolines, Palau, and Marshall Islands into states and territories.
- SEATO never falls apart
- The British empire continues as a Federation with Australia, New Guinea, Canada, New Zealand, Solomon Islands, South Africa, the West Indies, and Suez.
- Spain suffers a communist revolution and ends up as a communist state, with democrats and nationalists banish to the Canaries, Ceuta, Melilla, the Balearics, Spanish Guinea, and Spanish Morocco as a rump state incorporated into NATO.
- A Pan-Arab socialist state is formed out of Sudan, north Yemen, Libya, Egypt, and Syria,
- Lebanon remains a mainly Catholic nation, and Israel expands to incorporate the Sinai, West Bank, Gaza, and The Golan Heights. Both become US allies being surrounded by the Pan-Arab Socialist nation.
- The communists win in Korea and Tibet remains an independent state allied with the US

How would these changes affect how the cold war played out? Would direct hot war have broken out between the two superpowers? What sort of proxy conflicts would have been used?
