a larger Burgundian circle?

so when the Imperial Circles were created in 1500 and 1512, Charles the Bold's state had already broken up.

but what if Charles won the battle of Nancy and thus the Burgundian Wars, and went on to have a son after that, who inherited his entire Duchy / Kingdom.

Charles dreamed of recreating Lothair's empire. With a more powerful, united Burgundy in the HRE, might he push to have Savoy, Provence, and the old Kingdom of Burgundy lands included in the Burgundian Circle, to bring the old Lothairingian / Burgundian lands together? could this have worked do you think?

I think it would be far more likely for the Burgundians to go north like Charles V did, than to go south. In the north they could conquer various small principalities like Liege, Utrecht, Friesland/Frisia, East Frisia, Munster, Julich, Cleve etc. Easier than to go south across the alps.

I didn't mean they would actually conquer those territories, I agree that Burgundy would be more likely to attack the northern areas. But the each Imperial Cirlce was not all made up of one state's conquered territory, so I just thought if the Burgundian king wanted to bring the old Arles lands closer without actual conquest, this would be the way to do it. No idea how likely that is though.
