Wow..........The FTC had no real plans to keep Nintendo and Sega warring with each other like they had hoped. Nintendo would pretend to get the upper hand on Sega with a video game and then Sega would pretend to as well. Federal Trade Communion was not happy with the state at which the video game industry was headed and thus a new challenger was encouraged to enter the ring to fight off against Nintendo and Sega. The competitor came as no surprise when all was said and done.
Tencent had returned and was taking a crack at making a console. With the help of S.N.K. backing them there was no telling what would get accomplished by the Chinese giant.
One big change took place that shook both Nintendo and Sega, having to give up some of their studios. Due to not following FTC protocol, Nintendo and Sega were forced to sell off some of their businesses and Tencent got top pickings. It took SqaureSoft from Nintendo and Sonic Team from Sega. With the likes of those companies behind it Tencent could release a competent console that gamers would fawn over.

The Tencent TGP Box would use specifications like those from OTL XBox 360 with upgradeable technology that came from online downloads.
Tencent had just taken the star key players from both Nintendo and Sega and who knew what the future would consist of next.
IOTL it was but it didn't make the impact that Tencent wanted as far as I can recall; however, ITTL it will give Nintendo and Sega a run for their money.Wow..........
Was the Tencent TGP Box a real plan?
Dang.IOTL it was but it didn't make the impact that Tencent wanted as far as I can recall; however, ITTL it will give Nintendo and Sega a run for their money.
It is doing well for the market that it was created for.Dang.
I hear the Steam Deck is doing well.
Exactly.I can understand Tencent buying Squaresoft, but in what universe would Sega willingly give Sonic Team away?
changed to visual concepts.I can understand Tencent buying Squaresoft, but in what universe would Sega willingly give Sonic Team away?
Nice.Tencent couldn't be go directly towards the FTC to whine about what Nintendo and Sega were doing as they were in their rights to do so and were breaking no laws. Instead, Tencent would hit both companies where it hurt, their bottom line. It would accomplish this with games and the ability to have their console access the Steam Store.
Valve was no major competitor in the scheme of the video game console business, but its properties were popular enough to get gamers from around the world playing its games. If they could bring Valve on board then all of the third party game companies would give their console the best version of each game.
Besides that Tencent would have Riot Games make home console versions of League of Legends. Not only that but big titles like Kingdom Hearts, Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy, Metal Slug, King of Fighters were big contenders for Tencent in the South American region something that Nintendo and Sega had not considered when combating the Chinese Giant.
Butterfly Effects: Tencent has gotten the help of Valve to bring Steam to its console and is striking big in South America due to S.N.K.
Next Time: We have Nintendo and Sega share resources to create something not done before and a move that Tencent might not be prepared for.
