A House Divided ~ An Anti British Wilson Government

The POD for this is Texan cotton baron Colonel Edward House on his trip to Europe and Great Britain in 1912 receives a rude reception in Britain with several British aristocrats being most rude with some referring to Col House as a colonial ape.

Being a Texan Col House takes this reception badly and bears a huge grudge against GB.
His reception in Germany is more friendly and House's perception of the German's are changed for all time.

When he returns to the US House continues to back Wilson's election campaign and when Wilson wins he begins to stack the Wilson administration with people known to hold Anti-British sentiments.

So what happens now?

IOTL House was GB biggest supporter in the Wilson administration now he is very anti-British.
What effect does this have on future US actions in the coming war?

Lets discuss.

I am not sure it would have made much difference. Anti-British doesn't necessarily mean pro-German. Unless the Germans regarded America as being virtually on their side and didn't want to risk alienating America the introducting of unrestricted subamrine warfare particularly the Lusitania would have necessitated some response.

Wilson would have still gone into the 1916 election on a policy of staying out of the war

Its reintroduction in 1917, the sinking of American ships in the war zone and the Zimmerman cable could not have gone unanswered by the United States so America would have joined in and where Britain had no effect France might have done.

The cabinet members would have gone the same way as Bryan after the Lusitania.Wilson would have sacked cabinet members once the U-boats started their sinkings

Should the Germans have acted with more restraint and America stayed out, probably a longer war resulting in a stalemate and a compromise settlement without the injustices of the Treaty of Versailles
