A-H vs Russia: questions

Alright, suppose that, around 1870, Austria-Hungary and Russia go to war in the Balkans. Russia, not willing to fight too great of a war, dedicates only 300,000 soldiers. My questions are:

-Who would win?

-What kind of victory would it be?

-What would be the consequences to the loser?

-Depending on the victor, would any new nations be created?

-What would the Ottomans think, and how would they react?

-What about the Greeks? Or are they too weak at this point in time for it to matter?

-What else might result of such a conflict?

EDIT: How would the conflict be different if A-H had an ally? Say, A-H and Italy vs Russia?

If Russia and Austria-Hungary are fighting each other without other distractions, with no other allies then Russia will win. To answer the other questions:

1. Russia.

2. Decisive and crushing victory.

3. Austria will either collapse or be crushed and dismantled.

4. I think nations such as Croatia, Czechoslovakia, Hungary etc are created.

5. The Ottomans will think, oh shit probably and be very wary of the Russians.

6. The Greeks are too weak at this point.

7. When Germany is formed, Austria could absorbed as well. Also new Germany could ally with Russia.

At what point in history does Russia take over Austria in military ability? i.e. how far back would have have to go for Austria to be able to win a one on one match-up?

Why? 300,000 Russians vs. an unknown number of Hapsburg subjects needs at least some reason other than Austrophobia to make a defeat for the latter.

Austria-Hungary, the "I can't believe it actually is survived until 1918" state that everyone and their brother thinks would collapse in a stiff breeze.

I'm not saying I'm sure AH would win, but I'd be hesitant before saying it would definitely lose this kind of war - losing a full out great power struggle, sure, but this isn't one.

Oops, i didn't notice the 300,000 men limit for the Russains. If it was full on war between the Russians and Austrians, then what i said.

It will probably be minor Russian victory then.

Mid-18th c. latest.

But a limited war? Austria might win, as in Russia might actually fail to do what it set out to do.

Again: Why?

Why can't Austria-Hungary beat 300,000 Russians?

Incidentally, 1880 military personal figures:

246,000 (Austria-Hungary) vs. 791,000 Russians - and Russia has three times AH's warship tonnage.

So 300,000 men would not be a modest force for a Russia not raising additional troops for the war.
