A.H. Challenge: Beatles National Anthem

When I find myself in times of trouble
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
And in my hour of darkness
She is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.

And when the broken hearted people
Living in the world agree,
There will be an answer, let it be.
For though they may be parted there is
Still a chance that they will see
There will be an answer, let it be.
Let it be, let it be. Yeah
There will be an answer, let it be.

And when the night is cloudy,
There is still a light that shines on me,
Shine on until tomorrow, let it be.
I wake up to the sound of music
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.
There will be an answer, let it be.
Let it be, let it be,
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be

Somehow, Let it Be becomes the national anthem of an English speaking nation, either the U.S., Canada, England, Ect....
How is this possible, short of the soviets killing Stalin and establishing flower power with the healp of the workers and peasents of the world who are still alowed to worship. Extra points if Mother Mary is really the virgin mary under most people's understanding.

(Less points for a non-English speaking country, but still allowed to be considered? Non-Revolutionary France?
But 1000 pts if the nation is officially catholic and talking about Mary, the Virgin! I know, difficult with protestants, but I say play with Catholic nations too, so..)

Bumping, as I'm listening to this beautiful song again. And can't help but imagine legions of catholics kneeling to their 'Lords' in some alternate universe everytime I do. ;)

"The power to destroy a planet pales in comparison to the Trinity..."
-----Lord John Vader, Lt. of the Jesuits, before the battle of Endor.

Pacifist Empire of Mexico?

Ireland seems the most likely for an English-speaking nation. Perhaps a unified Irish government seeks a suitable peace-loving song as a balm for the nation's strife-ridden past?

Interesting. Pacifiscm didn't necessarily come to my mind when I listen to this song. Gentleness / compassion does seem easy, but I had no more difficulty seeing the 'mother' comming before a 'Death Lord' before battle or something like that as well.....don't necessarily associated 'Mary Vision's' / Hysteria with peace...but maybe that's just me...

But it has to work with the song, yes? I mean, maybe there could be a marching band blaring this out with the harshest sounding instruments known to man (bagpipes?), with Fearless Leader, dictator of Pottsylvania declaring war on some sod, but 'Let It Be' is such a gentle song... how could anyone go to war with it as the anthem?

Yeah, it's not going to be the theme song to a battle or anything. I guess what I'm trying to say, is that I could see it being a song of 'condolence' for just about anything. "Let it Be" could be soothing a person during their mother's funeral, or after having signed their best friends death warrant. That's all I mean. (Especially if you attach any religious 'fanatacism' / intentions to it." Swinging swords, no. Still, doesn't mean it couldn't be twisted into something omnious. But maybe that's just my mind...;)

Or even, a song played during an innocent man's execution in a movie....kind of Man for All Season.....what was the Catholic Advisor to king Henry again? Thomas Moore? I could see this song playing during his execution after he refuses to convert to Agnlicanism....
