Well, the thread is in the wrong place but I'd like to say something : most of the French Royals were fighting in the Resistance during WWII. I know Prince Louis Bonaparte (pretender under the Napoleon VI) did (he even got the Legion d'Honneur) and I think an Orléanist pretender was also fighting with the Resistance.
Plus, Hitler didn't really liked the Royal Families. He didn't like the House of Savoy, despite the fact Mussolini was his ally. Don't see why he would bother making a puppet French monarchy while he can have Petain and Vichy...
If France loses the Great War, there's a good chance that a far-right group could come to power and reinstate a figurehead monarchy.
Perhaps if the Croix-de-Feu joined the other far-right leagues in the 6 February Crisis of 1934 we could have seen a toppling of the Republic and the installment of an authoritarian government that could possibly reinstate a puppet monarchy.
