Lets assume a POD that Austria holds up against the Prussians long enough for Napoleon III to realise they aren't going to curb stomp the Prussians (ironic I know) and France intervenes successfully (lets say by supporting/reinforcing the already victorious Hanoverian army in the West), so Prussia loses the Seven Weeks War or whatever we now call it...
Is there an opporunity for a Franco-Austrian alliance to grow out of that intervention that persists into the early 1900s? A League of the Two Emperors if you will. If it is possible what are the likely repercussions for major power relations and alliances from the 1870s to the early 1900s - who will gravitate towards a Franco-Austrian alliance? And what alternative/opposing alliances might grow up in opposition?
