From my previous thread, I speculated that the first place a sensible explorer (insofar as that's not a contradiction in terms) would likely reach in the Americas would be Newfoundland. Supposing this is how things actually fall out, how would the delay in European contact with Central America affect the fortunes of the Aztec Empire? As I understand things, basically everyone who wasn't an Aztec absolutely hated them (gee, I wonder why... ), and their extremely messy and bloody collapse was pretty much inevitable, and would likely have happened within a few decades, maybe century. I'm no expert in the area, though.
