A Few Scenarios

How would history be affected if Britain was never invaded by barbarians or Normans?

What do you think would happen if Toba erupted in 1815 AD?

What would happen if it were the Eastern Roman Empire that fell into ruin, not the West?

The most memorable events in modern history--the Renaissance, the founding of America, the journeys of Lewis and Clark, the Napoleonic Wars--happened during a moment of climate chaos called the Little Ice Age. What would happen if the cold snap never came?

1. Well, probably we would see Picts existing and having their country. Celtic languages are more spread around the world.
2. Cold weather i guess? Many dead Sumatrans? Depends on the scale. The last eruption caused some slight cooling.
3. Slavs, Slavs everywhere.
4. Nothing? Maybe more immigration to America as it seems nicer.

1. The details could differ greatly, but it can roughly trace OTL trends in the long run. Picts and Romano-British would battle for domination of Britannia and Caledonia.

2. I cannot say, because geological PoD's within current technology can be considered ASB. Perhaps it would just be a relatively weak eruption, unnoticed and unremarkable.

3. They would have a hard time choosing if it is more important to defend Italia (center of administration) or Africa (breadbasket).

4. For one, Greenland could still have Scandinavians living in it. Perhaps another Vinland colonization attempt in the mid 1500s?
