I decided to revisit a timeline I had devised some time ago that was meant to serve as background for a potential game (still haven't decided tabletop or video). The POD was the Uprising of 1837 in Lower-Canada going better for the Patriotes and for the Reformers in Upper-Canada and from there spreading to other parts of North America such as the Aroostook region. You can see the original thread here.

Now, it occurred to me that before adding to it, I should probably choose one of the following approaches which I would appreciate if people could advise which one they think is more interesting:

1- Realism: Apart from this being an ATL, it would be treated realistically in term of weaponry available and physics. A few items that were still prototypes at the time might make an appearance under the guise of their creators or distributors using the conflict as a testing ground or demonstration to larger buyers.

2- Heighten Realism: a sort of Tall tale approach with certain liberties taken with historical facts (rumours taken to be factual) as well as troops and items that generally follow the laws of physics but that can be slightly exaggerated. For example, dying special character always being allowed to do one last action or having "lumberjack berserkers" troops.

3- Low-Fantasy: About a Game of Thrones level of fantasy. Some elements of quebecois / amerindians / anglo-canadians folklore would be included such as flying canoe or religious items that increase some abilities but no non-humans.

Any comments/advice welcome and please vote.
