A failed Normandy landing ?

some facts

Rommel was not in his HQ but was in Germany at Family because his son birthday party !

Hitler sleep true D-Day and no one dear to wake him up to inform what happened (no Joke)
as Hitler got informed he Believed really this was diversion and real invasion happened at Calais
so he order his Generals to keep there Forces there if the Allies Attack here.

during the time the Allies installed there bridgehead and moving inland
The allies were very lucky they had window of opportunity at 6 June
before that and after were severe storm who damage the bridgehead, lucky the allies had liberate french port were resupply safely.

another lesser know fact is that on 25–27 July USAAF accidentally bombed partial there own forces instead the Germans troops
this was do misunderstanding of General Bradley and the heavy bomber commanders, Bradley gave Attack order
Imagine the 3000 USAAF heavy bomber had full hit there own forces instead Germans.

I saw a timeline somewhere where the Soviets take Berlin on Christmas 1945 without the wAllies advancing from the west.

That feels right to me for some reason.

It's possible if Stalin ignores the Balkans and doubles down on the central front. With that, the Soviets could get their supply lines in order to launch a Vistula-Oderesque offensive by November. But WAllies in Europe or no, he'll be inclined to scale back operations along the Warsaw-Berlin axis in favor of rolling over Romania and Hungary as well as clearing the Baltic States, because that is the only way he can be 100% sure he'll be able to ensure Soviet control over Eastern Europe. It's also a relatively less risky and costly move as well as being something that helps the Soviet military victory in the longer run, as depriving the Germans of access to Ploesti oil will leave them with the Synthetic fuel plants that the American strategic air forces had finally started focusing on enough to pound into the ground.

That happened on a daily basis. It occured two days at very near locations when the first US attack was canceled. A portion of the bombers did not receive the cancelation signal, and they missed the Germans hitting US soldiers.

A German soldiers joke: If you see a black aircraft it is English & we hide, if you see a green aircraft it is ours & the Tommys hide, if you see a silver aircraft it is Ami & everyone hides.

There is of course a variant which misses out the Luftwaffe initially:

'And what about ours?

They're the invisible aircraft'

Berlin? No. Maybe other industrial centers and militarily import cities. The same kind of criteria the US used to select targets in Japan.

I've heard Dresden mentioned on the grounds that the combined bomber offensive left it alone until around the time the focus of nuclear strike planning switched from Germany to Japan.

Unlikely. The timing for that offensive was set by the state of the roads as much as anything else - by mid January they were frozen solid, whereas in November/December they were impassable.
