European armies seemed to fare poorly against the Mongol invasions, Kiev being razed, Poland and Hungary being humiliated and so on.
That said, is it possible to imagine a European version of Ain Jalut? That is, a decisive defeat of a Mongol invasion of dramatic apparent historical importance?
Eventually yes, Hungary, Poland, the Rus, etc performed ably against the Golden Horde, but do they have to wait as long as OTL to be successful?
I presume that the analogous victor here would most likely be either Hungary or Poland, and perhaps the former has better geography for a mountain ambush of sorts.
