A Different Second Ammendment to the US Constitution

So does anyone want to throw out their plan for how the US military would be organized and run?Modern or historic? If not I'll scribble one down and post it. Probably sometime tomorrow.

IMO it depends on if the amendment is finessed with legalistic redefinitions e.g. "Oh no your honour that's not an Army, that's a Self Defence Force." or the other possible work arounds that people have suggested. In which case the USA in this ATL might not be so different from OTL.

Alternatively if the USA takes a different path, following the spirit of the amendment, then it might build up a big navy and have a well armed and trained militia. If it stays isolationist, there might actually not be any need for a standing army. The effects on the USA in this ATL will be massive.

I look forward to seeing your ideas though.:)
