I've never seen this idea proposed before so I guess I'll be the first. So I was reading Ghost on the Throne by James Romm (excellent book for anyone interested in the imediant aftermath of Alexander the Great's death) and in it the possible ramifications of Philip III fathering a son was discussed. Basically any son from Philip III and Adea-Eurydice would be considered much more legitimate than Alexander IV and would be a threat to the regency government, as it would greatly expand on Adea-Eurydice's power, to the extent that the regency board could be done away with.

So my question is this: what if Philip III and Adea produced children, including a son? Would this cause an early shift in the balance of power in the Empire? Would Adea, having a son, be able to pull off her attempted coup in 321, after Perdiccas's murder? Could this leave a teenage girl in control of Alexander's empire? Or at the very least could this mean a continuing Argead bloodline? Or would this merely mean a few more victims in the bloodletting that was the diadochi wars?
