A Darker Alliance

France and Russia do not form an alliance due to Germany being kinder to France in diplomacy, therefore eliminating the need for a Franco-Russian Alliance.

Britain aligns itself with France, creating the Dual Entente.

Portugal joins the Dual Entente, turning it into the Triple Entente.

The Assassination occurs much as it did in OTL, but without French money and aid Russia does little more than some saber rattling while Austrian troops launch an invasion of Serbia, occupying most of the country by late December and establishing an Austrian puppet state there. Some land is also stripped from Serbia and annexed. This serves to increase ethnic tensions already at large in the Empire.

A minor revolt occurs in Austrian Slovakia and Czechland. It is repressed by the Austrian Army.

Germany begins to make up plans for a post Austrian collapse. Germany will annex Czech land, Slovakia, Hungary (including Transylvania), Galicia, and Austria. The rest of the Austrian Empire will be left to the other nations to fight over.

The Austro-Hungarian Empire suffers a massive revolt in its puppet state Serbia, it soon spreads to southern Austria-Hungary, casing the Empire to call out the Army to repress the Rebellion while the Austrian Army in Serbia begins a bitter fight to reestablish Austrian control.

Sporadic fighting between Austrian forces and various rebel groups begins to occur throughout the country, with some fighting turning into large battles. The Austrian Army suffers a defeat in Serbia at the Battle of Belgrade, suffering large casualties and forcing it to abandon Serbia entirely and retreat northward into Austria-Hungary.

The sporadic fighting finally breaks out into a nation wide revolution, giving the Germans the green light to move in and occupy Czechoslovakia, Galicia, Austria, and Hungary (including Transylvania). These areas are soon pacified through brutal force and a little Diplomacy. These areas are then annexed by Germany while a German Puppet State is established named the Kingdom of the Balkans. Meanwhile the rest of Austria-Hungary is attacked by Italy, Bulgaria, and Greece, with the three nations moving in and taking vast swaths of land.

The Post Austrian Bloodbath ends with Italy taking much of the Adriatic coastline and some of the interior while Greece takes a large chunk of southern Serbia and also conquers Albania. Bulgaria manages to take some eastern land, giving it a 36% increase in size.

Germany begins to integrate the new territories into the Empire, with ethnic Germans being given full rights while the other peoples are given some basic rights until they can be completely considered “German”. The Kaiser begins to fund the rebuilding of the Kingdom of the Balkans and the reconstruction of the new German possessions.

Germany continues to rebuild its war torn areas. Russia experiences a major rebellion by the Bolshevik Party. Not wanting a radical government in Russia, Germany and Italy send an expeditionary force to help the Russian government defeat the rebels, and they are defeated near the year’s end.

The Russians thank Italy and Germany for their help, and ties between the three nations begin to grow.

Germany is now completely rebuilt as is its puppet the Kingdom of the Balkans. Germany and Italy sign the Double Alliance. Russia, now finally stable, begins to rebuild itself with German and Italian aid. This goes on to further increase good feelings between the three nations.

Russia continues to rebuild while Germany and Italy send workers to help speed up the process.

Why wouldn't France ally with Russia and why it just watch when Germany become larger and more powerful? And why Russia don't help kingdoms of Balkan? And defeating of Bolsheviks is for me too easy. Sorry, but this seems quiet implausible maybe even ASB.

Britain and France wouldn't allow Germany to take those area's even if they were the best of friends, it makes Germany too powerful a force in Europe.
