A Communist Mexican Revolution

WI the communists managed to turn the mexican revolution in a communist one? I'm not a expert in mexican history so I don't know how plausible is that, but, WI it really happened? The Cold War would be different with a "Continental Cuba"?

The only way for the Un Partido Comunista to take over Mexico would be for the United States to have it's own Communist revolution.

I think a better way to get Mexico communist would be to have Trotsky go to Mexico as OTL, and rally the peasant class against the bourgeoisie, leading to an eventual revolution with him at the helm, leading to the eventual "Republica de la Genta de Mexico".

Of course, the Communistas in Mexico City would have to worry about a U.S. invasion. Something that the Pentagon still has plans for. Under the RAINBOW system, where each country had a color, Mexico's was Green, and thus the plans for Mexico (at least in the 1940s) were the GREEN Plans. GREEN-SIX was the most developed: all-out invasion, and not stopping until getting to Mexico City. There would be a lot of pressure to invade and "restore freedom and democracy" from both sides of the aisle in D.C., not to mention governors of border states (who would have problems handling those Mexicans who find being Red isn't a good thing).

Republica Popular de Mexico ;)

And he'd have to hide behind a Mexican figurehead to do it. Anyone knowledgeable about revolutionary Mexican politics who could suggest someone?
